The accommodation is on two floors. There’s level access from the pavement, one step down into the sitting room, and a sturdy stair.
Upstairs, the three bedrooms sleep up to seven people. A double bedroom is to the front. A family bedroom runs front to back with a double bed, single bed and wash basin. The bunk bedroom overlooking the garden has adult size bunk beds. Taken together, the bedrooms provide plenty of storage space for holiday clothes. The bright south-facing bathroom has a shower above the bath.
Downstairs, people love the Harris tweed sofa and chairs in our sitting room. There are windows to the garden and to the street. Double curtains give privacy and shade during the day should you wish. In the evenings the electric radiators and electric fire add to the cosy feel. The antique chest of drawers has books, maps, jigsaws, games etc. There’s some visitor information in a couple of concertina packs, a usb charging socket, TV and DVD. In our welcome book you’ll find instructions for the appliances etc, some history about the property, and our recommendations for local drives, walks and cycle rides.
The versatile dining area leads to a traditional galley kitchen with ample cupboards, cooker, fridge, microwave and washing machine. There’s a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and wash-basin, a boot-room for outdoor kit (with heater and dehumidifier), and some under stair storage space. Kayaking guests said that the cloakroom was the best drying facility they had experienced!
The house is all electric and easily heated. We’ve solar panels on the roof, with battery storage in the attic. Electricity and wifi are included in our rates, and we provide bedlinen and towels.
Outside
From the lounge window you see our gravelled garden area with garden seat, bird feeders, shrubs and plant pots.
Enter through the gate to the side of the house, passing our secure cycle store for up to 3 bicycles. Kayaks can stay round here too.
